McLeod Health is seeking to hire a Medical Director to over see its Onsite Services Network along with its Employee Care Centers. This position, in collaboration with the administrator dyad, provides clinical and operational guidance and leadership, and is responsible for ensuring that the highest quality clinical care is safely delivered across all of the Health systems service lines, which include Occupational Medicine, Employee Health, Worksite clinics, Wellness, and Employee Assistance Programs.
This person needs to have a strong Occupational Health or Primary Care background with experience in Worker’ Compensation. We prefer Board Eligibility/ Board Certification in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
As Medical Director, your schedule will be 40% direct patient care and 60% administrative, staff development, and oversight of contracts and APP supervision. You should be ready to lead, train, and inspire team members, demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and be empathetic to staff and patients. You will participate in the development of policies and guidelines (clinical and administrative) to correct and improve service to the Client/Employer. You will participate in Client/Employer relationship and sales process when needed. You will enjoy a convenient weekday schedule (M_F, 8-5) with no call but will need to have flexibility regarding support to care team.
You will need knowledge of Worker’s Compensation, OSHA, and other applicable legislative regulations. You will need DOT certification to perform motor vehicle driver examinations, MRO certification to review drug screens, perform pre-employment physicals, hazmat physicals, military physicals, work injury evaluation and treatment for both initial visits and follow-up visits. You must understand drug and alcohol testing, audiometry, spirometry, immunizations, vaccinations.
