Interesting article on a couple of issues. I’ve owned or managed about 18 urgent care centers in my career, but never a 24/7 facility. I wonder what the economics are and in what situations/communities it is feasible. Areas where ER overcrowding goes on all night long?

The other service I’m seeing more and more is a pre-paid option, something I toyed with in the early 90’s but didn’t catch on. What’s changed now that patients seem to be interested in this service?
Basically, you provide a certain number of services or visits per year for a set fee, with or without a copay. I still like the idea and will probably offer it in my future urgent care centers.
Is your center open 24/7?
Do you provide a pre-paid urgent care service option?
