Motor Carrier Questioning PTSD meds

Guy was diagnosed with PTSD and prescribed Trazodone, risperdal, and Prozac.   Motor vehicle carrier is questioning meds, specifically risperdal.  To my knowledge he should be fine.  He is feeling good.   Good after one week on meds.  I know they have to be effective and safe.  I guess my question is ……risperdal is not one of those medications prohibited to take while driving a commercial vehicle.

Here is an example of a CPAP compliance report.  This is from the user/drivers PAP memory chip, usually an SD type card they can produce or report from or their CPAP machine vendor can get it for them to present to their doctors, or a code generated from the machine they can input online to generate the report.

Screening for Sleep Apnea in DOT Physicals

When Do you disqualify a driver with Sleep Apnea?

Regarding screening for sleep apnea in DOT physicals. From my understanding, if I order a sleep study, the patient is temporarily disqualified until the study is complete. If they have obstructive sleep apnea found during testing, they must wait 1 month after CPAP treatment or 2 months after surgery.

DOT Physical Certification after a Stroke

The NADME DOT certification training course states that the recommendation for DOT certification following a stroke is one year.  One of our providers has since been told that the recommendation is 6 months…She wondering which is correct.
