For patients/drivers who fail sleep apnea screening and are given info to get sleep apnea study . how should we charge them when they return for follow up within the 60 day time period?

When there is a specification for annual medical examination
by their family practice doc and bring in supporting documents?
If we need to order extra testing for example; echo, sleep studies, extra blood work, does that get billed to their personal insurance?
I was wondering about the patients who currently take Suboxone. I practice in an area where drug abuse is epidemic. I know methadone users are disqualified but was also wondering about Suboxone. I am uncomfortable with the thought of any of these substances being taken by drivers….but also don’t want to be prejudicial. I can’t find any information on this particular substance.
I am confused on the SPE testing. I understand that it is for a fixed
physical problem and cannot be used for a progressive disorder or disease
but how often is it necessary to perform for a driver? Is it specific for
first time testing on a PE or is it used at every certification for that
driver? Thanks
Can a person be passed if he/she is primarily spanish speaking-can converse in engish– but can not write and read english well?Apparently they’ve been passed in the past.
Can you direct me on where I could look for which prescription drugs are automatic disqualifiers with DOT and which are not?
Me and another provider continue to dispute benzodiazepines and opioids and if the driver can pass the physical. I think that the driver can pass if they are not having sedative effects with the medications. He states that all benzos are DQ.
Today I had a truck driver in for recertification. He had diplopia which was corrected by prescription glasses.
